At the Natural Weaving workshop, we combined natural and industrial materials to create original autumn compositions. The participants had collected leaves, flowers and various plants from home gardens and parks and used these as weft which they woven into woollen warp threads. The results exceeded our expectations! In addition, the participants mastered the basic weaving dictionary, got to know several weave types and the hand loom mechanics. Searching for ideas for their own works, the workshop participants discussed various examples of textile weaving to see how nature (e.g. sunrise and sunset, stars, landscape) has inspired traditional weaving patterns in different cultures across time.
