In May we visited the festival in honor of Mokosh – old Slavic goddess of fertility and women’s protector, organized by the Oak Leaf Family. Mokoszowisko (Mokosh festival) is a unique event, in which both reenactors and scouts take part, as well as other individuals and groups who value crafts, natural construction, open-air cooking, etc. There were no usual fights and fencing competitions on Mokoszowisko (not counting friendly cuddles in mud). Instead there were dances, an evening specially for women, bread from a real outdoor clay oven and an unforgettable feast prepared by the organizers – true enthusiasts of the old cuisine based on locally grown and healthy ingredients.
