2nd Cistercian Fair in Oliwa

We have just had an extraordinary weekend filled with creativity and inspiration. We are delighted that the Cistercian Fair has returned as a (revived) old-new tradition in Oliwa, a district of Gdańsk. At Wici Association, we hold great affection for Oliwa, its community, and its creators, and we often organise workshops here. It is a historic district, full of charming corners and beautiful old villas. The fair brings the local community to life, reviving traditional crafts and customs, including those once practised by the Cistercians who lived here.

During the second edition of the fair, we had the pleasure of running band weaving workshops, which attracted enthusiastic beginners of all ages. Under the attentive guidance of our instructors, participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of weaving, explore the technique, and create their first woven bands. The atmosphere was brimming with creative energy, and the results of everyone’s work were truly impressive.

A heartfelt thank you to all who took part in the workshops, as well as to the organisers, Cysteria Café, and the Old Oliwa Association, named after Danuta Rolke-Poczman.

Thank you, and see you at future fairs!
